Does the Creator of the Universe desire His children to be holy or
set apart? Let’s look at
the definition of each of these terms.
·
Holy – to be exalted, or worthy of complete devotion, or Divine.
·
Set Apart – to be separated from.

was cast out of Heaven for wanting to be “holy”.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 14:12-14 “How you have
fallen from the heavens, O Helel (Lucifer),
son of the morning! You
have been cut down to the ground, you who laid low the gentiles! For
you have said in your heart, ‘Let me go up to the heavens, let me
raise my throne above the stars of El, and let me sit in the mount
of meeting on the sides of the north; let me go up above the heights
of the clouds, let me be like the Most High.’

YHVH
desires his children to be set apart.
When we hear and follow Him, He will set us apart from
the paganism of this world.
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:3-6 And Mosheh went up
to Elohim, and YHVH
called to him from the mountain saying,
“This is what you are to say to the house of Ya’aqob (Jacob)
and declare to the children of Yisra’el
(Israel): ‘You have seen what I did
to the Mistrites (Egyptians), and how
I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. ‘And now, if
you diligently obey My Voice and shall guard My Covenant, then you
shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples – for all the
earth is Mine – and you shall be to Me a reign of priests and a set
apart nation.’
The Hebrew word translated into holy is qodesh, which means a sacred
(set apart) place or thing.
This is one of the many examples found throughout Scripture
of how a subtle change in terminology can greatly confuse/alter His
Word.
The “Holy Spirit” has been leading people to be “holy” for thousands
of years. Only the Set
Apart Spirit will lead us into all Truth.
The choice is ours – Holy or Set Apart
